It’s so important to ask the right questions when choosing your Extension Specialist. Here’s 5 questions you should definitely be asking as you’re finding the right fit for you:
1. What products do you work with?
There are thousands of different products to choose from, but not all of them are created equal. The quality of hair, and the products you use to maintain your hair make a difference. If the stylist isn’t recommending exactly what you need in order to get the most out of your investment in your hair, it’s not the right choice.
2. What does maintenance look like?
It should be very clear how often you need to maintain your extensions safely. Additionally, you want to make sure that you are prepared for how much time you will be spending in the salon each time you visit.
3. How long have you specialized in Extensions?
How long a stylist has doing hair doesn’t necessarily make them more qualified than anyone else, but how long they’ve been specializing can help you determine if they have the experience you are looking for.
4. How many rows/length do you recommend?
Both your goal hair, and you’re starting hair play a role in how many rows of extensions you will need. Different methods can help you achieve different results. Some methods only need two rows in order to achieve length of volume, other methods will need 4-5 based on the type of installation. It’s important to ask those questions to see if they align with how you want to wear your hair.
5. Is this method safe for MY type of hair?
Extensions are not damaging. However, they can be damaging if they are not the right type of extension for your hair. If you have very fine or low density hair, extensions can cause damage if not the right fit. So make sure that you are seeing, a gallery of your stylist work that includes clients with your hair type safely wearing extensions.
